New-Tech™ Fume Hoods, Countertops and Casework

With over 45 years of experience designing, building and installing laboratory casework and fume hoods has taught us that “standard catalog” or “mass produced” fume hoods do not always properly fit around laboratory equipment.  Forcing or cramming the laboratory equipment into a “standard catalog” or “mass produced” fume hoods can cause safety issues due to the lack of proper clearances and improper airflow.

New-Tech Custom Fume Hoods can be designed with several options of door/sash openings depending on your needs.  Some of the most common door/sash openings are the "Custom Fume Hoods with Horizontally Sliding Sashes/Doors", "Custom Fume Hoods with Vertically Rising Sashes" or "Custom Ventilated Enclosures or Fume Hoods with Multiple Door/Sash Openings” (see below for more details).

New-Tech Fume Hoods

BENCH TOP FUME HOODS & CASEWORK
  • New-Tech bench top fume hoods can be shipped completely assembled; no need to reassemble your new bench hood onsite.
  • New-Tech can also pre-wire and pre-plumb your new bench hood at our facility. The electrical components and the plumbing service fittings will come installed on the hood and ready for your final connections (not just a box of parts being shipped with your new bench hood).  This can greatly decrease the construction time onsite thus saving you both time and money.
  • New-Tech can also Pre-Install our patented Automatic Sash Positioning System (ASPS) on your new bench hood.
CUSTOM FUME HOODS WITH HORIZONTALLY SLIDING SASHES/DOORS
  • Custom Fume Hoods with Horizontally Sliding Sashes/Doors are designed with door panels that slide from left to right across the opening.  This door configuration is designed to minimize the amount of opening and allow the users to work around the door and place it in front of them as a shield.
  • All New-Tech Custom Fume Hoods with Horizontally Sliding Sashes/Doors that have been requested to have an ASHRAE 110 "As Manufactured" test have passed.
  • Available in sizes ranging from 4' wide to 20' wide (left to right), from 2' to 12' deep (front to back) and from 4' to 16' tall.
CUSTOM FUME HOODS WITH VERTICALLY RISING SASHES
  • Custom Fume Hoods with Vertically Rising Sashes are designed with sashes that are raised and lowered vertically.  This sash configuration is designed to maximize the amount of clear opening, both vertically and horizontally, allowing the least amount of obstruction when setting up or modifying the equipment or processes being done inside the hood.
  • All New-Tech Custom Fume Hoods with Vertically Rising Sashes that have been requested to have an ASHRAE 110 "As Manufactured" test have passed.
  • Available in sizes ranging from 4' wide to 10' wide (left to right), from 2' to 12' deep (front to back) and from 4' to 16' tall.
CUSTOM VENTILATED ENCLOSURES OR FUME HOODS WITH MULTIPLE DOOR/SASH OPENINGS
  • When conventional Bench Top Fume Hoods, Horizontally Sliding Sashes/Doors, or Vertically Rising Sashes do not provide enough safe access to your equipment or processes, a New-Tech Custom Ventilated Enclosure may suit your needs.
  • When placing tall equipment or processes in a Custom Ventilated Enclosure, consider having Upper and Lower Horizontally Sliding Sashes/Doors. This will safely allow the users a separate access to the upper section of the hood without entering the inside of the enclosure while minimizing the exhaust airflow needs.
  • When the openings for either Horizontally Sliding Sashes/Doors or Vertically Rising Sashes become wider than 8', consider using multiple openings. This will make the doors/sashes lighter and easier to use.
  • The Ventilated Enclosures can be designed with access from both sides of the enclosure while still having balanced exhaust airflow from left to right and from top to bottom.
  • Available in sizes ranging from 4' wide to 30' wide (left to right), from 2' to 12' deep (front to back) and from 4' to 20' tall.
